portfolio thoughts
I've been working
for MONTHS on this artist statement and progress is being made! As soon as I get all this gradschool stuff out of the way I will make a post about the awesomeness of Art Basel. In the
mean time, here are some images I am considering for my portfolio because it
is great to get feedback (hint hint hint). There are currently 22
images and schools ask for 15 or 20, so I need to take out 2, and then
have 5 others that I can take out for the schools that want fewer.

Hey, you. My thoughts:
ReplyDelete- Strongest are numbers 7, 10, 12, 15, 21 and 22. I have an illustrative bias, granted, but I think cutting any of these would be a mistake.
- Graphically weakest/most ambiguous are 4, 5, 11, 16 and 17. 16 could be a stunner with more attention to lighting, detail and physics.
- What's the aim of the portfolio? Is it simply a showcase, or are you trying to make a point or complement your application in some other way? your thoughts might be helpful.
ged,
ReplyDeletei'm so so blown away by these. especially the charcoal pieces you're working on. my god, girl.

also:
ReplyDelete4,5,6 -- there's a story there
9,10 -- have a lightness to them
11,12 -- different side to your work, very interesting
15,16 -- end times
18,20,21,22 -- your statement is in these pieces!
